Making Democracy Work: Local Action on Climate Change

The League of Women Voters -Downeast is hosting a panel discussion with local activists and civic leaders who are tackling climate change head-on. How are they making democracy work on this vital issue in their own communities? What can we learn from them about the power of civic engagement?

Panelists will include Raney Bench, MDI Historical Society; Johanna Blackman, Executive Director, A Climate to Thrive; David Dietrich, Climate Resilience Committee, Blue Hill; and Jim Fisher, Town Manager, Deer Isle.

Please join us to learn more about this important issue. This hybrid event is free to the public. Lunch will be offered to in-person attendees.  Remote participants must register below. There will be an opportunity for questions from the live audience, and there will be an opportunity for the Zoom audience to submit their own questions to be presented by the moderator.

It's good to be together again. Register below to join by Zoom.
