This three-session course in local civic affairs and grassroots democracy, will meet Wednesdays, October 8, October 15, and October 22. The course serves to encourage/facilitate/recruit folks to get involved in local civic affairs and grassroots democracy! We'll reinforce the need for the public to 'show up' for things like planning boards, city committees and boards, city council meetings, and engage with civic groups. Folks will learn where to find out about engagement opportunities and what you need to bring to the table. This is about engaging in grassroots democracy and civic affairs and helping improve your town and having fun doing it! Instructor: Rick Lyles from the League of Women Voters-Downeast.
