A deep dive into the mechanics of proportional ranked choice voting (pRCV)!

This webinar is a deep dive into the mechanics of proportional ranked choice voting (pRCV)! We'll explore how pRCV would have delivered proportional representation in Portland's controversial 2021 Charter Commission election — the election that led LWVME to study pRCV.

The pRCV study committee will walk you through a pRCV count, or tabulation, of the actual ranked choice votes from this nonpartisan municipal election. We'll monitor each round of tabulations, pausing to evaluate what we can learn. We'll also contrast our hypothetical pRCV tabulation with the official results of this election — which were decidedly nonproportional.

While not required, participants are encourage to check out our introductory webinar here (link coming in February).
