Personality and Professionalism: Creating Your Persona

Registration is closed for this event
Join our Speakers' Bureau to talk about how to bring aspects of your authentic self into your presentations! Whether you do a lot of public speaking or just want to make sure you're representing yourself well in public spaces, this workshop will give you food for thought.

The League of Women Voters of Maine Speakers' Bureau is made up of members, volunteers, and friends who want to share their knowledge with the public. People of all ages and with any amount of experience are welcome - whether or not you've ever given a talk, you'll find something useful in our meetings.

Every other workshop is structured around a topic of interest to members. This one will focus on a practical approach to figuring out how to bring your authentic personality into your public presentation. Are you usually silly? Do you get distracted easily? Do you nerd out about statistics? Do you get excited talking about collective action? In different spaces and for different audiences, each of those things can be a strength!

Our workshops are participatory and informal - come planning to listen, share as you feel comfortable, and leave with new tools or a new way of thinking about the old ones.

If you're unable to attend but want to learn more or want to join the Speakers' Bureau whether or not you can come to our meetings, just email Evan at evan@lwvme.org.
